Why the "fake it till you make it" approach is unlikely to help you overcome imposter syndrome…

If you're consciously faking it till you make it:

🫣 You're consciously accepting that you are a fraud.

🫣You reinforce the belief that you don't truly belong.

🫣You become better at masking our insecurity, instead of building real confidence.

Question: how could that possibly help silence your imposter feelings?

So, what works instead?

😇 Acknowledge your self-doubt.

Confidence doesn't mean never questioning yourself. It means moving forward despite the doubts.

😇Focus on evidence, not feelings.

Imposter syndrome tells you that you're not good enough. Challenge this negative inner voice by focusing on the facts... and only the facts: past successes, positive feedback, jobs you secured, real skills you've developed, etc.

😇Take small, courageous steps.

Confidence isn't something you wait for. It's something you build through action. The more you do, the more you prove to yourself that you're capable, and the more your confidence grows.

🔥Instead of faking it, focus on growing into it. That's how real confidence is built.
